Suddenly, her hands are very, very interesting.
"I love you."
She looks up.
"And, you know, maybe more importantly, I like you too. And I'm not going to lose you because of my own stupidity about something that can't change and, really doesn't matter."
She smiles, a little.
"The only thing that really matters is you."
