Mary Anne's Machete

She opens the door, bowing in a thoroughly exaggerrated fashion.

"After you, my dear."

Miho plops down onto the end of her futon, and unties the laces on her blades.

"I'm glad you like it. I mean, it isn't an art sword, or anything like that, but you'll be able to kill people with it."

And that's the point, really.

She twirls the blade in a tight circle.

"It's perfect for home."

She lowers the weapon and wanders closer to the futon. "Because it can't be said enough--thanks, lovely."

And she bends to couple the words with a thank-you kiss.

She smiles shyly.

"You're very welcome."

And because thank-yous of all varieties have to be properly appreciated, Miho tips her head and arches her back to receive it.

The hand not holding the machete slips between her shoulder blades to provide her with leverage.

"Should we take it outside and get a little practice," she asks, lips still brushing Miho's, "or would you rather stay here?"

"Hmm."

Closed eyes flutter open. She smiles, cat's eyes sleepy. Reaches out, takes the machete, and places it carefully on the floor. Then laces her fingers through Mary Anne's free hand, and tugs gently.

"One followed by the other?"

"I love the way you think," she murmurs, moving to kneel on the futon, straddling Miho's legs.

"'One followed by the other' it is." She uses the hand on Miho's back to lower the other girl gently onto the futon, before following her down.
